This Level of the ECDL Programme introduces the novice and the complete beginner user in the world of techology and computers.  There are now three (3) products at the Introductory Level:

• Equalskills
• e-Kids
• e-Citizen

The ECDL Core is the main certification programme of the ECDL Foundation. It is a test of practical skills and competencies and consists of seven separate modules covering computer theory and practice. To achieve an ECDL Core certification, the Candidate must successfully pass a test in all seven modules.

The ECDL Start is a subset certificate of the ECDL Core certificate. It is awarded to the candidate when he/she successfully completes four (4) ECDL Core modules.

The ECDL Expert is a higher-level programme designed for those who have successfully reached the ECDL Core skills levels and wish to further enhance their computer proficiency and expertise. It consists of four (4) modules at the Advanced Level

Recognizing the need for certification of IT skills in specific and vertical markets, the ECDL Foundation has introduced the ECDL Specialized Certifications whcih currently cover three domains:

• Computer Aided Design ( ECDL CAD)
• Photo and picture editing (ECDL ImageMaker)
• Web Design (ECDL WebStarter)

The Certified Training Professional (CTP) is an international qualification in IT training.
As one of the ECDL Foundation's non end-user certification, CTP provides trainers and training organisations with an objective quality standard against which their own training services can be measured.
