The MTES - Manual Test Evaluation System has been used in Cyprus since the introduction of the ECDL in the country. Simply put, MTES requires that a person - the Test Invigilator physically supervises the test process and another person - the Test Evaluator actually evaluates the work of the candidate. In other words, the evaluation of the test is carried out by a person. In contrast with ATES - Automated Test Evaluation System where the evaluation is carried out by the computer using a testing software/application.
The MTES process also requires the existence and use of:
- a test paper that contains the questions/tasks which the candidate has to carry out as part of the testing process.
- a CD or other media from which the workfiles required during the test are copied on the candidate's machine.
- a diskette or other media that will save and carry the work of the candidate.
