The ECDL Start is a subset certificate of the ECDL Core certificate. It is awarded to the candidate when he/she successfully completes four (4) ECDL Core modules. Although there is no restriction or limitation as to the four (4) modules which will comprise the ECDL Start certificate it is recommended that ECDL Core Module 1 - Basic Concepts of IT (Information Technology) is one of the four modules.
